Positive Cases or Household Contacts
In line with directives from the Victorian Government and MACS (Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools), a number of COVIDSafe measures have been introduced to ensure that the school environment is as safe as possible. This includes informing Avila College if a student tests positive to COVID 19 or has been identified as a household contact of a positive case.
Inform Avila – Positive COVID-19 Result
A student has tested positive to COVID-19 via a Ra or PCR test. If a student has tested positive, they are also required to report the result to the Department of Health using this online form: https://dhvicgovau.powerappsportals.com/rapid-antigen-test/ or via the Coronavirus Hotline at 1800 675 398
Students with a positive test result must isolate at home for 7 days (inclusive of weekends) and do not attend school during this period.
Inform Avila – Household Contact
A household contact is a someone who has spent more than four hours with someone who has COVID-19 inside a house, accommodation, or care facility.
Household contacts can continue to attend school if they:
- wear a face mask when indoors (unless they have a valid exemption)
- and conduct 5 rapid antigen tests (RAT) within the 7-day period
